How to Join Shopee Affiliate in Indonesia

Shopee Affiliate is a commission route for product promotion on supported channels. Understand the products, account rules and qualifying-order requirements.

Steps for creating on Shopee Affiliate

  1. Step 1

    Register through Shopee Affiliate’s official app or site. Shopee requires a personal Shopee account (not a shop account) and an active public social media account, with no minimum follower count. Submit information only through official services.

  2. Step 2

    Choose products you can explain honestly. Check variants, seller, availability and commission terms before producing content.

  3. Step 3

    Demonstrate size, function, strengths and limitations. Answer buyer questions without copying seller videos.

  4. Step 4

    Use official product links or features from an approved account. Tell viewers you may earn a commission.

  5. Step 5

    Review order reports and commission status. Distinguish estimates, approved commissions and paid money. Rates can change and some orders may not qualify.

  6. Step 6

    Keep a record of products, content, costs and approved commissions. Update or remove promotions that are no longer accurate.

What should you measure?

Approved commissions and production costs are more useful for evaluating income than product sales value. GMV is transaction value, not your take-home money.

Schedules, video lengths and examples are practice suggestions. No posting time, hashtag or formula guarantees virality. Check your account because features can change.

How can you earn money?

Commission depends on programme rules, products, account status and orders. Shopee’s own pages show different percentages, so check current rates in the app. Under the programme terms (27 August 2026), commission is paid weekly after Shopee withholds income tax (PPh 21/26); without KTP and/or NPWP details, payment cannot be processed. Sample purchases can make the result negative.

UGC
You are paid to create brand content. Publishing on your account is not automatically included. Specify deliverables, format, revisions and usage rights.
Endorse / paid promote
You are paid to publish to your audience. Disclose the sponsorship and make only supportable claims.
Affiliate
You receive commission for qualifying transactions. Check account approval, products, attribution, cancellations and payment rules.

Prepare your first offer

Prepare a short portfolio with three relevant samples. State topics, services, delivery time, revisions and business contact. Give the source and period for any metrics. Label practice samples as practice rather than paid client work.

Can I join Shopee Affiliate without an NPWP?

You can register. To receive commission, complete Payment Settings with your KTP (NIK) and a bank account in the same name; upload an NPWP if you have one. Since 2022 the NIK has served as the NPWP for resident individuals, and DJP announcement PENG-6/PJ.09/2024 says the higher withholding rate does not apply when the NIK is integrated with DJP’s system.

How many followers do I need for Shopee Affiliate?

Shopee states there is no minimum follower count. It asks for a personal Shopee account and an active, public social media account with original content. The Shopee Video Creator Programme has separate requirements.

Can a seller account join Shopee Affiliate?

Affiliate registration uses a personal Shopee account, not a shop account. If you also sell, use your own separate personal account and never another person’s identity.

When is Shopee Affiliate commission paid?

According to Shopee’s help centre, Monday–Wednesday commission reports are paid on the following week’s Wednesday and Thursday–Sunday reports on the following Friday, shifting for public holidays. Amounts below Rp500,000 go to ShopeePay under the programme terms.

Do I need a large following first?

Not to learn and build a portfolio. UGC work considers production quality. Sponsored publishing considers audience fit and content performance. Affiliate and platform programmes have their own rules.

How long until I get work?

There is no fixed timeline. The 30-day plan is practice for creating work samples. Paid work depends on quality, fit, communication and opportunity.
