How to become a TikTok Shop affiliate in Indonesia

Short answer

As of 1 October 2026, official TikTok Shop by Tokopedia pages list these affiliate-creator requirements: at least 600 followers, age 18+, a post in the last 28 days, no revoked e-commerce permissions and content that follows the community guidelines. Apply in the TikTok app via Creator tools → TikTok Shop for Creator. LIVE is not required: you can promote through videos, the showcase or LIVE. Accounts under 600 followers can use a link-share-only account, which cannot earn from videos or LIVE.

What is a TikTok affiliate?

A TikTok affiliate promotes sellers’ products on TikTok Shop and earns commission on qualifying orders. In Indonesia, TikTok Shop has operated with Tokopedia since the GoTo–TikTok transaction completed on 31 January 2024, and TikTok’s Help Centre calls it ShopTokopedia. Creators still apply in the TikTok app.

TikTok affiliate requirements in 2026

  • At least 600 followers for an affiliate account.
  • Age 18 or older, with identity (KTP) and age verification before posting shoppable videos, going LIVE, adding products to the showcase or withdrawing commission.
  • A TikTok post in the last 28 days (per the “How to Apply” page dated 30 April 2026).
  • Not a government, politician or political-party account; no revoked e-commerce permissions; e-commerce content follows the community guidelines.
  • Link-share-only accounts need no minimum followers, but their showcase stays hidden and they cannot earn from short videos or LIVE. They upgrade automatically once they qualify.

How to apply

  1. Step 1: Open creator tools

    In the TikTok app, open Profile → Creator tools → TikTok Shop for Creator → Apply.

  2. Step 2: Verify identity and age

    Indonesian creators submit a KTP. Use your own identity; from 30 June 2026 one identity document can be used for at most five TikTok Shop e-commerce accounts.

  3. Step 3: Complete tax and payout details

    TikTok Shop collects tax information at onboarding and withdrawal. The commission-account name must match your bank account and cannot be changed once submitted.

  4. Step 4: Choose products and start promoting

    Add products you understand to your showcase, make demonstration videos or go LIVE when eligible. Turn on commercial content disclosure.

Commission, withdrawals and creator levels

Commission is paid after the seller’s orders settle, so cancelled or returned orders may earn nothing. GMV is transaction value, not money you receive.

TikTok Shop groups creators into levels L0 to L8, refreshed at the start of each month from the previous month’s GMV, activity and product selection. Levels unlock platform benefits, not a salary, so this guide publishes no “income per level”.

Rules creators often break

  • Violation points accumulate; at 24 points TikTok Shop creator privileges are removed, and permanently revoked permissions cannot be restored.
  • The same stream may not run on TikTok Shop and another platform at once (simulcasting).
  • Never lend or use someone else’s KTP for an affiliate account.
  • Never make false product claims; cosmetics need a BPOM licence and BPOM Regulation 7/2026 bars influencers from promoting medicines.
  • Be wary of paid classes or digital-product schemes promising guaranteed affiliate income.

Can I be a TikTok affiliate without followers?

You can use a link-share-only account with no follower minimum, but it cannot earn from short videos or LIVE and its showcase is hidden. A full affiliate account needs at least 600 followers as of October 2026.

Do TikTok affiliates have to go LIVE?

No. Official pages list videos, LIVE and the showcase as sales channels and do not require LIVE. Going LIVE from your own account has its own requirements, including age 18.

Can I be a TikTok affiliate without a KTP?

Not for Indonesian creators. Since 2026 TikTok Shop requires identity (KTP) and age verification before creators post shoppable videos, go LIVE, add showcase products or withdraw commission.

Do I need an NPWP to be a TikTok affiliate?

Official TikTok Shop pages ask Indonesian creators for a KTP and a tax code if available, without stating that an NPWP is mandatory. Follow the in-app form. Since 2022 the NIK has served as the NPWP for resident individuals.

Can I have two TikTok affiliate accounts?

From 30 June 2026 one identity document can be used for up to five TikTok Shop e-commerce accounts. Use your own identity for each account and follow content rules on all of them.

Can TikTok affiliate work make money?

It can when qualifying orders settle. No income is guaranteed; also count sample, data and production costs.
